Ganpati Bappa comes bearing good news for Maharashtrians as COVID-19 cases in Maharashtra finally drop below the 10,000 mark for the first time in over three months. Considering that the state’s tally stood at 25,000 active cases in June, this seems to be a positive development for people.
COVID-19 tally for the last few months
Additionally, Mumbai has reported zero death linked to the viral infection since August 22. Reportedly, Maharashtra registered 11,571 active coronavirus cases on June 9. The number rose to 23,746 around June 19 and by June 27, the active caseload was at 25,570.
With the onset of August, the number of COVID cases fell by more than half to 11,900 and by August-end, it stood at 10,633. Eventually on September 6, Maharashtra’s active caseload was recorded at 7,701.
As per the state official COVID dashboars, a total of 21 BA.5 and 216 BA.2.75 (omicron sub-variant) patients between August 20 and September 1 were reported.
