Spending a day at the Bandra Fair is like stepping into a carnival for all the senses; a riot of colours, trinkets, and, most importantly, flavours. As you make your way up or down the steps of Mount Mary Church, it quickly becomes clear that this is as much a food walk as it is a pilgrimage. First-timers, brace yourselves, the sweets here are legendary. This year, from September 14 to 21, the fair promises eight days of fun and festivity. Here’s a sneak peek at 8 stalls at Bandra Fair you absolutely should visit.

Candles to make offerings

When at Bandra Fair, making an offering is a tradition. The stalls offer colourful garlands and models of hands, legs, and other body parts, representing your prayers for health. These unique tokens let you add a personal touch to your prayers. All available at super affordable prices.

Keep your eyes peeled for this Bengal delight

If you are in the mood for something that is delicious and unique, treat your taste buds to something special at Bandra Fair. Say hello to the irresistibly sweet and flaky ‘Khaja’, an indulgence you absolutely can’t miss.

Price: ₹40

Explore statues, rosaries, keychains & more

Who knew a stroll around the Bandra Fair could turn into a mini treasure hunt? Here you’ll find stalls filled with religious statues such as Mother Mary, Jesus Christ, and many more. Fancy a cute keychain, a stylish bracelet, or a delicate rosary to take home? They have it all.

Rosaries start at ₹40 | Statues from ₹200

Books for the soul & mind

Book lovers can also browse through a wide variety of the latest popular titles at the bookstalls. For those in search of religious books for adults and children, several stalls near the church exit feature friendly nuns ready to assist you in selecting the perfect read. These books are available at ₹150, making it a meaningful addition to your home library.

Kerala Halwa blocks that steal the show

While wandering through the lanes of Bandra Fair, you won’t be able to miss the colourful blocks of halwa. From Kiwi Halwa and bright Orange Halwa to Pomegranate and Pineapple Halwa, it’s like a rainbow you can eat. Whatever fruit you can imagine, there’s probably a halwa in a matching shade waiting for you at Bandra Fair.

From Kala Channa to Kadio Bodios

It’s simply impossible to stroll past the Bandra Fair without spotting the ever-popular kala channa (black chickpeas) sold in generous heaps. However, the real crowd-puller is the crunchy orange kadio bodios and a yearly favourite that keeps making a comeback. A little munch to keep your energy up while you walk around.

Goan flavours in every bite

One bite of Choris Pao and you’ll see why it’s a perennial favourite at the Bandra Fair. This spicy-sour Goan pork sausage is a pocket of indulgence that meat lovers cannot miss. If you are a fan of Goan flavours, it’s a must-try this week. The stalls also serve a tempting array of dishes including Sorpotel Pao, Beef Roast, and Pork Roast.

Price: ₹100

Treats at Mount Mary Cafeteria

Amid the stalls and festive cheer of the Bandra Fair, the Mount Mary Church cafeteria offers a range of delicious snacks to keep you going. From the Sorpotel Hot Dog and Chicken Hot Dogs to veg and non-veg patties, plus cheesy sandwiches, there’s something for all. Enjoy your snack on the move.
