The state government has reportedly taken a decision to conduct COVID-19 tests for people arriving from the UK to the state after December 7. The decision was taken at the meeting, held by the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, in wake of the new variant of COVID-19 spread in the UK.
RT-PCR test for people arriving from European nations
The test has been been made mandatory for people arriving from the United Kingdom. People coming from other European countries will have to go through the test if they are found with the symptoms of the coronavirus infection. All passengers coming to the state from the UK and other European countries will be asked to stay in home quarantine as well.
Action to be taken against overpricing of RT-PCR tests
The state has also requested travellers from abroad to download the ‘Mera Covid Kendra App’ on their phone, in order to locate the nearest testing centre run by the government or contact the helpline-18001805145. As per reports, the government has also asked authorities to keep a check on the pricing of RT-PCR testing for COVID-19, charging not more than ₹700. In the case of the sample collection from home, a fee of ₹900 can be charged. The state will take action against private laboratories if found guilty of overcharging.
The recovery rate of the state stands at 95.7%
The government has also asked for spreading awareness of e-sanjivini app for online medication. The application has reached approximately 3 lakh downloads. Though the recovery rate of the state is pegged at 95.7%, one cannot simply be casual about it. People are requested to follow the guidelines, issued by the government, in order to control the spread of coronavirus in the state.
