In order to keep the Diwali rush in check and make travel convenient, the Transport Corporation of UP has planned on increasing the number of buses plying from Lucknow to 8 other cities, starting November 12. These cities include- Delhi, Dehradun, Varanasi, Gorakhpur, Prayagraj, Jaipur, Balliya and Agra. Apart from the routine buses, 80 new buses, comprising both regular and luxury, will run from Lucknow to the above mentioned cities, starting tomorrow.
Online Booking Started!
The UPSRTC has set around 80 buses in motion on 8 routes, for safe travel during the festive season. These services are scheduled to run every hour from the Lucknow Alambagh base to Delhi, Dehradun, Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Prayagraj, Ballia, Jaipur, Agra. Besides the Alamabagh base, the buses will also be available from the Alambagh, Charbagh, Kaiserbagh and Awadh Bus Station at source point Lucknow.
According to the Regional Officer of Lucknow Zone, the buses will depart as soon as they hit the 25 passenger capacity. The bookings for the same have already kickstarted and tickets can be booked both online and offline (from the counters). The capacity in these new buses have been reduced to a lower number in order to maintain social distancing during road travel. The increased frequency and hourly schedule will also help to stagger the crowds, tackling the issue of festive rush during the pandemic.

Lucknow Alambagh to Agra – 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM
Lucknow Alambagh to Gorakhpur – 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM
Lucknow Alambagh to Varanasi – Morning 7:00 pm to 11:30 pm
Lucknow Kaiserbagh to Dehradun – 8:00 am to 9:00 am (Sleeper) and 9:30 am (Janrath)
Lucknow Alambagh to Prayagraj – 7:00 am to 11:00 pm
Lucknow Alambagh to Ballia – 8:00 am to 11:00 pm
Lucknow Alambagh to Jaipur – Daily 2:30 pm (AC Janrath bus)

This move by UPSRTC will surely make travelling on the above mentioned routes, more convenient for people. With Diwali being just around the corner, there is going to be a large number of people traveling back home, hence the increase in bus frequency with a capacity of 25 in each bus, is a much needed respite, during these unprecedented times when social distancing is so important!
