The state of Uttar Pradesh launched an online registration process after the beginning of the COVID vaccination drive on January 16th. In accordance with this system, beneficiaries got a message on their recorded mobile number that informed them about the designated date and place of vaccination. Earlier, only after showing this message to the authorities, the frontline and healthcare workers would receive the vaccine shot. Now, however, individuals in all districts of Lucknow will be permitted to take the jab by registering at the inoculation centre, right away.
Inter-portability of vaccines allowed for transferred health workers
Additionally, the inoculation officer also told that the facility of inter-portability of vaccines has been opened for healthcare workers who missed the jab due to a transfer. He further added that the natively developed vaccine is proving to be safe and effective, garnering increased levels of demand from countries across the world. Uttar Pradesh is also in the process of designing a scheme that can accelerate its vaccination graph.
As per the current procedure, the expected recipients of the vaccine receive a message from the CoWIN control room. But that’s going to change now as individuals will not require the message validation anymore to receive the vaccine in Lucknow. The beneficiaries of the drive have been asked to report to helpline number of CoWIN control room 05498-220827 or the state helpline number 104 if they experience any untoward side effects.
Mild side effects indicative of the vaccine’s effectiveness
As per reports, Dr. Piyali Bhattacharya, paediatrics specialist from SGPGI acquainted that COVID-affected children in India are comparatively better off than their counterparts from different parts of the world. While every third COVID positive child in foreign nations requires an ICU ward for treatment, the situation is not the same in India. Reportedly, the departmental head of Respiratory Medicine in KGMU, Dr. Suryakant informed that mild side effects like fatigue and fever are indicative of the effectiveness of the vaccine.
Uttar Pradesh marks a daily drop in the COVID cases
On Thursday, Lucknow witnessed the confirmed cumulative tally of 81,717 COVID affected individuals. The capital city had 370 active cases of the coronavirus while the count stood at 2,690 for the state. According to the available information, 9,34,962 vaccine doses have been administered in the state so far.
