The biggest Durga Puja pandal in Lucknow this year is ready in Jankipuram, spread across a two lakh square feet. Constructed since August 3 by around 58 artisans from Bengal, the hand-carved Utsav Durga Pandal gleams in white and measures 108 feet high, 115 feet wide, and 100 feet long.
As per multiple sources, the idols were unveiled on September 27, marking the start of the puja. Inside, devotees will encounter a resplendent idol of Maa Durga, seated in Ram Darbar, and even a model of the BrahMos missile.
A three-in-one design

The pandal fuses multiple inspirations. From the outside it resembles a Thai pagoda, the interiors echo Swaminarayan Temple artistry, and the sanctum frames Maa Durga in a Ram Darbar setting. This blend of cultural motifs has already drawn anticipation and acclaim.
Built for safety & scale
Learning from damage caused by heavy rains in 2023, organisers have adopted aerodynamic principles this year. The 100x100x100 ft design includes back-air control to withstand storms and strong winds. The model helps the pandal stand tall and firm in any weather. Ten thousand sq ft is dedicated to the main pandal, 65,000 sq ft to a play zone for children, and nearly one lakh sq ft kept open to manage the expected surge of visitors. Food stalls and rides add to the festive spirit.
Further, authorities highlight the choice of location as crucial and expansive enough to accommodate the massive crowds. Insurance has been taken out for ₹1 crore, alongside a public liability cover of the same value.
Gunning for a record
The organisers have applied for entry into the Book of World Records for the largest Durga Puja pandal yet. Officials are already on site to verify measurements.
