In a pleasant turn of events, the capital city of Uttar Pradesh, which has been the worst-hit by the ongoing pandemic, reported less than 200 cases on December 10. 155 corona victims were earlier reported on November 15 but the curve had been going upwards, ever since. This has pushed Lucknow’s confirmed covid tally to 74,069 as yet and the count of active cases is pegged at 3,128 while the city has observed 1,038 fatalities till date.

It has also been announced by the authorities that residents of Lucknow and other districts in UP, will now have access to a mobile application for tracking all the COVID-19 test centres, within 5 km of their radius. Citizens will be able to download the app from Playstore or from the Directorate of Medical & Health Services website.
Just last week, Lucknow’s SGPGIMS reportedly conducted the highest number of RT-PCR tests for Covid-19 in a single day, in the whole country, with an aggregate total of 6 lakh tests. Earlier, till September, King George’s Medical University had examined about 5 lakh samples for COVID-19. As of December 9, UP has conducted 2,07,66,011 COVID-19 tests and the state’s current recovery ratio is marked at 94.9%.
