Rain shifts towards Western UP
Monsoon is gradually shifting westward. IMD has issued a heavy rain alert for 16 districts, including Saharanpur, Shamli, Bareilly, and Pilibhit. Thunderstorm and lightning alerts have been sounded for 47 districts across Uttar Pradesh.
East UP sees dry spell
The cyclonic circulation over the Bay of Bengal has pulled monsoon moisture towards Odisha and Madhya Pradesh, leading to a decline in rainfall over Eastern UP. Over the next 3–4 days, regions in Purvanchal may only see light drizzles or intermittent cloud cover.
