Adding to the scope of advanced science streams, the University of Lucknow will be offering two new courses in two of its departments starting from the 2023-24 session.
The zoology department of Lucknow University will now offer a certificate course in spirulina algae (an edible variety of microalgae). The psychology department will start a certificate course in guidance and counselling.
Special certificate course for the cultivation of pirulina algae
Spirulina is a type of blue-green algae that is highly nutritious and contains protein, vitamins, minerals, carotenoids, and antioxidants. In addition, its consumption can help protect cells from damage. Due to the increasing awareness of its benefits, the demand and the usage of spirulina algae in food products has been growing in foreign countries.
Owing to this, the zoology department of Lucknow University will be offering a short course on cultivating spirulina algae. The course will provide comprehensive training and knowledge on the cultivation of the genus.
Psychology department to offer short term course in counselling and guidance
In response to the increasing demand for specialized training in counselling, the Psychology department of the university has launched a short-term certificate course.
This course will aim towards equipping individuals with the skills and knowledge needed to guide and support others in realizing their full potential in education, career, and personal well-being. Moreover, the process of counselling involves helping individuals identify their strengths and weaknesses, and assisting them in achieving their goals and attaining a higher level of happiness and social fulfillment.
