Lucknow’s medical infrastructure is set to get a new addition in the form a new trauma centre in the Jankipuram extension area. As per reports, the principal construction for a one-floor trauma facility has been initiated on Sunday and is set to complete, within a one-year timeline. The centre will stand near the Bhitoli crossing in Lucknow, benefitting the population of about 5 lakh people in the area and the city as a whole.
New construction agency to hand over the building within one year
After several years of land dispute and disrupted work, the LDA has set the ball rolling for the establishment of a trauma centre in Jankipur extension. The erstwhile agency had not even dug the foundation for the facility, delaying the completion of the work. Consequently, the district development authority has changed the executing agency of the project now, entrusting another organisation to complete civil construction.
This new agency is expected to hand over the building to the health department within one year. To stand true to this, the construction work for the trauma centre began with full force on Sunday, on a free of cost land received from the LDA. Lucknow CMO informed that the total cost of construction has now been budgeted at about ₹3 crores.
