The sky-rocketing tallies of new infections in Lucknow have recorded around 1,160 fresh cases in the city on Saturday. With this continued surge of cases for the 2nd consecutive day, its total caseload now stands at around 45,269 infections. On the other hand, recoveries in the district also witness a boost as the highest-ever tally of 1,105 patients were reported corona-free in a single day! The fatalities were also stilted at the mark of 9, raising the mortality count to 585 in the city.

The transmission of the fatal coronavirus has found its grip in capital Lucknow which yet again reported the highest cases in the state, with a tally exceeding the 1,000 mark. With this vicious climb in the new cases, Lucknow accounts for every 5th case reported in the state, that reported a total of 5,729 cases on Saturday.
The recoveries in Lucknow however, have scaled up to their highest potential since the outbreak of coronavirus and 1,105 people were cured off the virus and its symptoms on Saturday. This has projected a 77% recovery rate in Lucknow that has also contributed to arrest the rise of active cases to a mere 46 on Saturday, with a total of 10,090. This number though marks 15% of the total state active case burden. These patients are either under hospital treatment with external care and support or in-home isolation. The condition of around 800 of the active aggregate pose critical vulnerability to the coronavirus.
The mortality count was also prevented from entering the double digits on Saturday and with 9 fatalities, the curb in the death rate was acknowledged and lauded by the Uttar Pradesh CM. The Cabinet Head had further reviewed the situation of the Capital and quickly deteriorating Kanpur and have directed to strengthen the defence against the virus in terms of civic control and medical competence. He also instructed to ensure that there is adequate oxygen supply with a proper back-up at prescribed rates for the patients.
