The annual fest to showcase a taste of the Nawabon ka Shaher, Lucknow Mahotsav is back in the city and it’s going to be huge. Lucknowites eagerly wait this festival every winter. The main attractions are the variety of activities it offers- from food to fun packed rides, from shopping to cultural events, it not only encapsulates the spirit of Lucknow but also brings together an essence of Uttar Pradesh’s art and heritage, culture.
Last year, fans were dismayed when the festival was cancelled due to civic elections in the city. This time around, the festival will thrive and make up for last year’s lack of celebration. The event will take place from November 25 to December 5 at Kanshiram Smriti Upvan, near Ashiyana.

The theme of this year’s Lucknow Mahotsav is Atal Sanskriti and Atal Virasaat, which will celebrate the life and times of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. As a tribute to him, his village will be re-created at the Mahotsav. Adding to the spirit of remembrance will be many of his pictures, his favourite paintings and music closest to him and even various interactive experiences for the audience.
The event will be lit up by the graceful presence of musicians Guru Randhawa, Javed Ali, Uttar Pradesh based singer Brijesh Shandilya and Indian folk singer Malini Awasthi. Each of them will bring something unique to the stage with their music as they beautifully try to capture the spirit of Uttar Pradesh. Additionally, there will also be classical music performances which will leave you dazzled with the complex and enthralling music.

Apart from musical events, Lucknow Mahotsav will also be host to the usual kavi sammelan and mushaira affairs, which are events to cater to your literary side. The kavis will have some deeply thought provoking poems ready for the audience and mushaira will be host to some of the best shaayars in all of Uttar Pradesh. There is also a special space in the cultural programme for budding local artistes to perform their arts and be a part of this great cultural and heritage phenomenon.
