Tourists in Lucknow are in for an all-new adventure ride. The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) has decided to launch hot-air balloon services at parks and monuments, maintained by the Smarak Samiti. Earlier this week, Vice-Chairman Tripathi of the LDA, directed the concerned officials to prepare a business plan to start the rides in the city. Further, they also need to identify and list locations where the adventure service can be provisioned.

The Lucknow Development Authority has channelled its energy to open new attractions in the city and boost its ‘tourism economy’. For this, hot-air balloon services from LDA parks and monuments of the Smarak Samiti, will soon take over the city’s skyline.
As such, a business plan for the whole project and a revenue module to generate income for the Smarak Samiti are presently being drafted by the LDA. It may be noted that these adventure rides will be available for interested travellers, tourists and revellers, at nominal charges.
Further, the LDA has directed officials to mark advertisement points at parks and monuments in Lucknow, which may be used by companies to display their signboards. This step too, has been initiated to generate income, the LDA Vice-Chairperson highlighted.
Fun-zones to come up at Lucknow Samiti parks!
Besides, a facelift is also slated for the animal gallery at the city’s Eco Garden, read reports. Officials have been directed to make the unit more attractive and tourist-worthy, with installations of lights here. Parks and monuments maintained by the Samiti will also be upgraded with fun zones. As per reports, tourists will be allowed entry into these spaces by tickets.
The Vice-President has also directed the officials to hire an architectural consultant, to look into the repair works required at city monuments. The gates and stones of several heritage buildings in Lucknow are in need of refurbishment and an action plan for the same will be devised as per the inspection of the building consultant. The overall cleanliness and repair work of the monuments shall be implemented soon, added other officials.
