Various districts across Uttar Pradesh, including capital city Lucknow, have been experiencing heavy rainfall since Thursday morning. The rainfall was followed by hailstorms in some areas of Lucknow. While the incessant rainfall and the waterlogging caused due to it, hindered movement on the roads throughout the day, public movement and flight schedule has also been impacted at Lucknow’s Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport. As per reports, various inbound flights to Lucknow stand rescheduled, cancelled or diverted from their usual route amidst the current weather condition.
Flight from Sharjah stands cancelled

The runway of Lucknow’s airport stands submerged in water, as the city experiences continuous downpour for over 12 hours now. This waterlogging has led to a disturbance in the usual routine of the scheduled flights at the airport. While a number of flights have been rescheduled, the international flight from Sharjah expected to arrive in Lucknow was cancelled.

As per reports, many flights slated to arrive at the Lucknow Airport were diverted to Delhi Airport, including an Air India Mumbai-Lucknow and Ahmedabad-Lucknow flight. Additionally, an international flight from Dubai to Lucknow was diverted to Delhi.
Special bus arranged to ferry passengers

The airport authorities have arranged a special bus to assist passengers at Lucknow Airport. Due to the current situation, these buses will be used for transporting those arriving at the terminal to the community centre and from the community centre to the departures via these buses. Additionally, as per reports, pumps have also been stationed at the site to drain the water out from the access road.
