With an escalating rate of COVID infections in the city, Lucknow University administration announced that online classes will be conducted for students of all courses till April 10. This decision was taken by the Vice-Chancellor of the varsity after his requests got approved by the higher authorities and the district collector. In the past, the Deputy Chief Minister of the state had issued directives for online classes in all higher educational institutions till March 31, reportedly.
Low count of students for physical classes after Holi vacation
In view of the second wave of the pandemic, the state government issued a new list of guidelines and instructions on Thursday. Under its provisions, it has been said that the VC and the DM can together decide to suspend physical classes in any institution for a stipulated period of time.
During this interval, online classes shall be conducted while the schedule of examinations will remain unchanged. After these directives were received, the Vice-Chancellor of Lucknow University planned for the online classes with an aim to arrest the possibilities of an unchecked spread within the campus.
As per reports, a low count of students visited the campus to attend physical classes after the Holi vacation on April 1. While the situation was the same in most departments, students of English, Sanskrit, Commerce and Science sections have been alerted after their teachers tested positive for coronavirus.
Second COVID-19 wave grips the city of Lucknow
