Bringing in a welcoming respite from the scorching heatwave, the weather in Kanpur took a pleasant turn on Monday morning. With skies turning sepia in the middle of the day, heavy dust storms along with showers of rain in Kanpur have brought a drastic change in the weather!
As per the forecast by the state meteorological department, the nimbus cover will sustain over Kanpur for the next 24 hours, after which the sun is expected to shine through.
Advisory issued for citizens
The showers of rain had a significant impact on the temperature, balancing the mercury between 36°C to 24°C. In addition to this, the rainfall also improved the air quality index of the city to a ‘satisfactory’ level at 73.
However, the city experienced a heavy dust storm before the rain poured in. With strong winds at 13 Kmph, the city noted poor visibility and the falling of branches of trees, tin shed at multiple spots across the city.
Citizens are advised to keep a watch on the weather changes and be prepared to move to a safer place accordingly.
Similar warning issued across several district
According to the forecast by the IMD, Kanpur is expected to experience moderate to severe thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and rain till Tuesday.
A similar forecast has been issued to Etawah, Mainpuri, Eta, Farrukhabad, Auraiya, Kannauj, Lucknow , Unnao, Raebareli, Hardoi, Sitapur, Lakhimpur Khiri, Bahraich and Barabanki as well.
