Boosting the healthcare services in the state, Kanpur’s GSVM Medical College will soon start OPD operations across 12 new super-specialty departments at the institute. Being established with the efforts of the central and the state governments, the multi-super speciality will benefit patients from nearly 10 to 12 districts. Reportedly, the administration has ordered officials to ensure the availability of electricity and water supply at the upcoming facility within 2 months.
240-bedded facility to have a total of 60 specialist doctors
As per reports, the college management has asked for 60 specialist doctors to be deployed at this centre. Reportedly, the 240-bedded multi-super specialty block is being built at an approximate cost of ₹200 crores.
Recently, the central administration had called the project manager and directed him to finish the interventions within 100 days. Besides, the state government was also asked to look into the matter and the local authorities have been instructed to ensure quick availability of water and electricity.
Separate neuroradiology department to be set up at the institute
Reportedly, the OPD services will be started across a range of disciplines including Endocrinology, Nephrology, Urology, Pain & Palliative Care, Orthoplasty, Gastro Medicine, Neurosurgery, Neurology, Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, Pediatric Surgery and Gastro Surgery. Reports state that a faculty of 5 individuals will be employed in each sector. This would include a professor, an associate professor, an assistant professor, a senior resident and a resident.
As per reports, a separate department of neuroradiology is being set up at the institute. In a bid to assure detailed inspection, focused radiological examinations of spine, brain and nerves will be conducted at this centre. As per reports, modern CT scan machines, MRI machines and ECG machines have been ordered for this department. Additionally, colour doppler and advanced digital X-Ray machines will also be procured for this new centre.
