Rajasthan government has said no to fire-crackers in the state, this festive season, by effectively banning all activities related to the sales and licensing of the same. The cabinet has taken this decision in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic which has infected as many as 1,98,747 individuals in the state since its outbreak in March. Besides this, all schools and colleges in the state will also remain shut till November 16.

Considering, the firecrackers are obvious air pollutants, the harm they will pose clubbed with the spread of the air-borne contagious virus is unsurmountable. Therefore, to curb the rise in the possibility of contaminants, in a pandemic world, the Rajasthan state administration has taken a decision to ban the sale of firecrackers. This decision will not only protect the corona-infected patients but also will create an overall cleaner environment for the benefit of others, who may otherwise feel uneasy with the smoke emanating from bursts. Along with the sales ban, a ban on the temporary license for sales activities has also been announced by the state.
Prioritising the lives of citizen, the CM said that fireworks should also be stopped at weddings and other ceremonies. He further added that strict action would be taken on vehicles plying on the streets without a PUC (Pollution Under Control) certificate.
Schools remain shut in Unlock 6
During discussions regarding the ease and restrictions of the ‘Unlock-6’, Principal Secretary (Home) said the educational institutions, including schools, colleges and coaching centres will remain closed till November 16.
The latest guidelines for phased unlock within state aligns with the earlier order, shutting all swimming pools, cinema halls, multiplexes, entertainment parks etc. Apart from these, crowd-control at weddings and last rites have limited the guest count at 100 and 20 respectively.
