December has brought a huge respite to the residents of Jaipur, from the constantly rising number of coronavirus cases. Since December 1, the infection graph of the coronavirus among new hosts has been sloping to smaller figures. This, along with a rising recovery count, has assisted Jaipur to clock a negative active caseload for 11 days in succession, which has further helped to reduce the hospital bed capacity to reduce by half in 13 days!
Jaipur against the spread of COVID-19
Jaipur has been recording higher recoveries than new coronavirus cases for 11 consecutive days, reporting lowering tallies since the beginning of December. This has brought a huge relief to the city and its people alike, who were battling what was termed as the second-wave of COVID-19 infection.
The number of patients receiving oxygen therapy has also dipped to a total of 371, as opposed to the record high 895 on November 29. Similarly, during this period, the number of engaged ICU beds and ventilators have also fallen from 588 to 345 and from 224 to 134, respectively. In about 2 week’s time, the occupancy in city hospitals has shot up by 1,037, which is suggestive of the high number of recoveries furnished each day, during the said tenure. Since the outbreak of the virus, Jaipur has successfully recovered a total of 46,209 coronavirus patients.
