If you’re one of those who love to follow rules, something good might finally be coming your way. Jaipur Traffic Police recently announced that they will be giving out badges of honour to all those that adhere to traffic rules. The traffic cops will give out green smileys to the do-gooders, and for rule violators, a red lapel along with a challan.
The move comes as part of the ongoing traffic safety week. The safety week began on February 4 and will be active till February 10. Their new initiative serves the purpose of spreading awareness about traffic rules and how abiding by them can actually save lives on the road. Good drivers and traffic rule followers will receive a green lapel of recognition as part of the initiative.

Traffic rule violators on the other hand, will be given a red coloured lapel along with a challan that they will have to pay. In addition to that, rule violators will also have to sit through a two hour long seminar on the traffic stipulations. Apart from that, the cops will also take pictures of violators and post them on their social media accounts. Since the Jaipur Traffic police has recently got a social media presence, they aim to use it to their benefit as much as they can.
Owing to their new social media presence, they have some other ideas as well that will encourage people to adhere to traffic rules. They are constantly upping their game by taking initiatives from other cities and moulding them so that it finds acceptance in Jaipur. Of the slew of new initiatives, the noteworthy ones are their plan to send out pamphlets and organizing regular seminars to educate citizens about the benefits of traffic rules.
All of this comes under the ongoing Traffic Safety week which shares the same goal. Over the course of the 6 days, their goal is to get as many people as they can to follow traffic norms.
