The Jaipur International Airport (JAI) has been in highlight in the recent times for quite a few reasons. Now, there are new flights which are taking over the Pink City’s skies, which in turn is making Jaipur accessible from various parts of India without much of a hassle.
Adani group selected to operate the Jaipur Airport for the next 50 years
Starting from last month, Jaipur Airport has been offering direct air connectivity to the city from Chandigarh International Airport. This flight is scheduled to arrive at 10:40 AM and depart at 11:40 AM. It’ll be operational for 3 days a week- Monday, Wednesday and Sunday. Furthermore, after a gap of 2 whole years, flight services between Indore and Jaipur have been set in place, which is bringing in steady traffic. Even back in July, the airport authorities had started operating flights between Adampur and Jaipur, in a first.
The Union Cabinet has also approved the proposal for leasing out Jaipur’s airport for the next 50 years, through a Public-Private Partnership. The revenue garnered will be used further by the AAI to develop airports in small cities. Last year in February, the Adani group was selected to operate the Jaipur Airport along with Thiruvananthapuram and Guwahati airports.
