After being denied permission by the state administration, the organisers of Sunburn have now announced a curtailed version of Asia’s largest music festival in Goa. Scheduled to take place from December 27 to December 29 in Vagator this year, this grand music festival premiering the best of Electric Dance Music (EDM), has a big fan base of music lovers from all across the globe. As per the first official statement issued by Percept Live post the announcement made by the Chief Minister of Goa, this decision to tone down Sunburn 2021 has been taken in view of the ongoing COVID pandemic.
Only fully-vaccinated people to attend the carnival

The statement issued by the organisers of Sunburn said, “Percept Live would like to clarify that an initial application was made to host Sunburn Festival at Vagator at a similar mega-scale as it used to take place earlier. Under advice from the government, it was decided to not pursue this mega festival any further due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Hence the Sunburn mega festival is not taking place in Goa this year”.
“However bearing in mind the improving situation and with nightlife & events slowly making a come-back, Percept has tied up with Hilltop, Vagator to produce a smaller limited capacity Sunburn event from December 27-29 at Hilltop, Vagator. This event is being organised with the support of the requisite authorities. The planning for the same is currently underway and Percept looks forward to welcoming fans in Goa very soon,” read the statement.
Going by the official statement, a scaled down version of this festival will be held at Hilltop in Vagator. While the pre-booking tickets were sold out already, early bird tickets for this festival are still live on BookMyShow. To eliminate the risk of transmission of coronavirus, only fully-vaccinated people are allowed to attend this three-day festival.
