With an objective to inspire and cultivate a love for science and technology amid young minds, the sixth edition of the Science Film Festival was launched in Goa. Inaugurated by the Chief Minister of the state on Wednesday, the movie-fest at INOX, Panaji was graced by the presence of a list of eminent dignitaries. Reportedly, the two-day event being marked on 17th and 18th March is witnessing the screening of four notable science feature films sourced from different regions.
Scientific exhibition, workshop, movie master-class & much more!
In addition to the presentation of remarkable movies, the event is also hosting an interesting scientific exhibition and a training program for teachers. Besides, a dedicated master class for imparting specific knowledge about moviemaking is also being organised at the venue. Being put together by the Entertainment Society of Goa and National Oceanography, this event has been successfully observed for nearly 6 years now.
Aiming to propagate the ideas of science amongst the students, the festival brings together science and cinema on one platform. Speaking at the event, the Chief Minister asked the youth to pursue a line of thought rich in scientific temper and reasoning. He also pointed out that given our increasing needs and requirements, innovation has become one of the most significant necessities of the time.
A step towards boosting scientific temperament of the society
All the programs involved in the schedule stretching over two days have been crafted in a way to make sure that the attendees learn about the repeated application of science in our lives in a simplified way. In this way the visitors shall also take the information home and spread it amongst other people, raising the level of knowledge and information. It is through these active interventions that the state is ensuring the growth of human resources, one of the prime facets of development.
