With the purpose of scaling up the state’s collective immunity against the deadly COVID-19, the Goa government will now float Tika Utsav 1.2, from 5 July. The focal point of this drive is set at injecting the second dose of vaccine to those who have completed 84 days, since the first shot.
Eligible beneficiaries above the age of 18 to be vaccinated, nevertheless
However, each eligible beneficiary above the age of 18 will have the recourse to walk-in for either the first or the second dose of the corona vaccine during the Tika Utsav. Whosoever is willing to take the jab during this phase of the drive, may contact their local representatives or health officials for the timetable of the venue in their locality. Additionally, the government intends to jab all the citizens with the first dose of the vaccine by July 30.
Restaurants & bars permitted to resume operations at 50% capacity
Although tourists might have to wait till the end of the month to make their Goa plans or be fully vaccinated to enter this territory any time soon, locals and residing visitors can now visit restaurants and bars in the state. After a taxing closure period, these establishments have been allowed to resume their activities at 50% capacity, from today. Alongside such businesses, the administration has also given a green signal to sports complexes, outdoor stadiums and salons, to reopen from today.
Curfew extended in Goa
Keeping the healing trends in view and to maintain them further, on Friday the state government announced the extension of the current COVID-induced curfew till July 12, 7 AM. The curfew restrictions on public movements and the businesses in the state were enforced back on May 9 and since then, it has been periodically extended.
