On Saturday, the All India Football Federation (AIFF) issued a statement announcing the kickstart of the first women’s football camp since the COVID-19 induced lockdown. Thirty women footballers have been called up for a national camp that will be held in Goa, starting Tuesday, i.e. November 24. The Senior National Team Doctor, Shervin Sherifff has prescribed a detailed SOP to prevent infection among sports-persons and support staff during the course of camp.
Selection process complete
The selection process for the camp has been completed already by Women’s team head coach, Maymol Rocky and includes the following players.
Goalkeepers: Aditi Chauhan, Elangbam Panthoi Chanu, Maibam Linthoingambi Devi, Narayanasamy Sowmiya
Defenders: Asem Roja Devi, Jabamani Tudu, Loitongbam Ashalata Devi, Ngangbam Sweety Devi, Ritu Rani, Sorokhaibam Ranjana Chanu, Michel Margaret Castanha, Wangkhem Linthoingambi Devi, Pakpi Devi Yumlembam
Midfielders: Grace Hauhnar Lalrampari, Manisha, Nongmaithem Ratanbala Devi, Sangita Basfore, Karthika Angamuthu, Sumithra Kamaraj, Kashmina, Pyari Xaxa

Women’s Camp to be administered by SOP
The resumption of team training at the Goa camp will be monitored by a strict and detailed SOP. This SOP mandates incoming players and support staff to get a COVID test (RT-PCR) done from any laboratory accredited to the Indian Council of Medical Research, three days ahead of the departures from their hometowns.
“After reaching Goa, a Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) has to be done and if the result is negative, they can proceed to their respective rooms for seven days of room quarantine. After successful quarantine without any signs or symptoms of COVID-19, they have to be tested for RT-PCR on Day 8 following their arrival before joining the training,” the AIFF said.
