Now, IIT Kanpur has brought this sci-fi concept to life with the launch of its Metamaterial Surface Cloaking System, a groundbreaking technology that can render objects undetectable to radar.
The cutting-edge stealth technology has been named Analakshya MSCS. This textile-based broadband Metamaterial Microwave Absorber offers near-perfect wave absorption across a wide spectrum, significantly boosting stealth capabilities against Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) imaging.

The Analakshya MSCS is the result of collaborative efforts led by Prof. Anantha Ramakrishna from the Department of Physics, Prof. Kumar Vaibhav Srivastava from the Department of Electrical Engineering, and Prof. J. Ramkumar from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, along with their students.
