Rajwada Palace is one of the most prominent tourist places of Indore. The place isn’t just crowded with tourists on a given day but also sees a large footfall of localites, owning to its amazing food and crafts market. It is obvious that such a place will definitely be packed with vehicles and parking issues would surface too. Many a times, your shopping experience would have been marred by cars and motor vehicles passing through the area. Well, all that is about to change.

The authorities at the Urban Administration are looking to make the entire Rajwada area a vehicle free zone. This is going to bring about a change in tourist activities as it will make way for people to move freely. Here’s everything you need to know about it.

What’s the update?

The entire area will be made vehicle free for one primary reason, to attract more tourists and to beautify the place. In turn, this will bring about a huge tourism boost to the city, and not Rajwada alone. Apart from that, visitors will also be able to indulge in a better and a more wholesome experience, owing to the lack of motor vehicles and noise.

As of now, Rajwada becomes a vehicle free zone during the festivals and the goal is to implement the same throughout the year. Authorities have stated that this project was floating around for a while and now seemed to be a good time to implement it. With the tourist season near, it was vital that authorities took note.

Since Rajwada is a heritage building, pollutants from motor vehicles were proving detrimental to the architecture and the stones used. Not only is this a move that will bring about a change in traffic practices, but will also help preserve the palace better than before.

Knock Knock

Rajwada Palace and the adjoining market are some of the most lucrative attractions in Indore. Often, a visitor’s experience can get marred because of motor vehicles in the area, which is something that will soon become a thing of the past.
