With the aim of carving a modern civic landscape in Lucknow, around 33 intersections in the city will be revamped as part of the Smart City Project. Under this project, state-of-the-art facilities will be installed at prominent chaurahas in the town, augmenting the overall ease of travel. Along with a focus on dissolving the growing traffic woes in the city, the renovation plan also includes beautification of these intersections.
New footpaths, pathways, green belts to be part of the project
Previously, the Lucknow Smart City Project had also announced a plan for revamping the route stretching from Charbagh to Hazratganj via Hussainganj. A detailed analysis survey was conducted to gauge the number of vehicles along this way, their average speed and other such related factors to launch the project. However, it was soon called off.
In place of this, around 33 intersections in Lucknow will now receive a facelift, including the aforementioned locations.Chaurahas at Sikanderbagh, Mahanagar, IT Chauraha, Polytechnic Chauraha among several others have now been included in the urban development strategy. New footpaths, pathways, green belts, and designated parking spaces will be added as part of this project. The plan also features a road widening pointer, that entails a 50-meter expansion plan for each listed intersection.
The said proposition has been designed to ease mobility and commute in the capital city. The project will further ensure road safety for all by reducing traffic accidents. The intersection nodes will uphold the standards of development in Lucknow and will pave way for more such modern projects.
