Sending a sigh of relief among the financially stressed residents of Rajasthan, the government has fixed the price of the rapid antigen test for COVID at ₹200. The decision to charge only the fixed price from patients is applicable to all private labs and hospitals. This verdict by the state government has been issued to tackle the pandemic scenario in Jaipur and other state districts as it will bring quick results and patients will receive a fast medical response.
Patients with initial symptoms can get tested
The Medical and Health Department of Rajasthan, in a welcome move, has fixed the price of the Rapid Antigen Test being conducted across all private labs and hospitals in the state. A precedent to this decision was the reduction in the cost of the RT-PCR test, which has been revised at ₹350 by the state government.
Now, patients suffering from cold, cough and fever can get tested for COVID and receive immediate medical treatment, depending upon the test results. Further, this will help in pandemic management as diagnosing and treating patients when initial symptoms appear can significantly help in flattening the curve.
COVID tally in Rajasthan
Till now, 9,35,658 individuals have recovered and more than 1,99,81,201 have been vaccinated in Rajasthan. With a recovery ratio of 98.5%, the number of active cases across the state stands at 5,619 with 1,096 cases in the capital city Jaipur. These statistics speak of the second surge slowly dying down and the efforts of the government, through increased testing, shall only aid this further.
