A world-class cricket stadium is set to come up in Jaipur, now that the city’s development authority has sanctioned the requisite space to Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA). The land that has been allotted is in Chonp Village, located on the Delhi-Jaipur Highway, and the construction shall take place in two phases. With the capacity to accommodate 75,000 people, this cricket stadium shall become the third-largest in the world.
To be constructed in 100 acres of land
In the first phase of its construction, this stadium shall have the capacity to accommodate 45,000 people and during the second phase, it shall be expanded to accommodate 30,000 more people. Apart from this, the new stadium will have two practice grounds, an academy, a club hotel and all other state-of-the-art facilities that make up an international stadium.
In regards to the construction, the RCA President is quoted saying- “The stadium to be constructed on around 100 acres of land and will be completed in 2.5 – 3 years with an investment of around ₹650 crores. The BCCI has given a grant of ₹100 crores while loan worth ₹100 crores will be collected. ₹90 crores will be collected by the RCA and others. Under the first phase, investment of ₹400 crores will be made. RCA will take a loan of ₹100 crores, ₹90 crores will be generated via corporate box.”
RCA is also working on improving the standard of the cricket stadium located in Jodhpur as the Chief Minister has announced to organise an IPL season in this city. Further, it is noteworthy to mention that the largest cricket stadium in the world is located in Motera, Ahemdabad, and the second-largest is in Melbourne, Australia.
