The University of Lucknow is trending on Twitter with the hashtag that reads Education Cannot Wait, and after this, it has released the set of guidelines for examinations this year. These exams are only for the final batches and all the other students in intermediate batches will be passed on an internal aggregate assessment.
Examination Rules
Lucknow University has released a set of guidelines for both undergraduate and postgraduate courses examinations that were earlier postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic. A Multiple Choice Question paper format will be set for the exams. The duration has been capped at 1 hour and 2 marks will be awarded for each right answer. The semester-wise system will have 70 questions, of which students have to answer 35. Similarly, 50 out of 100 questions have to be answered for the yearly system. Those marked under internal assessment will be marked on the basis of previous semester/year performances.
The University exams are characterised by practicals which account for 50% of the total marks and these will be uploaded by the varsity on their official website wherever required. For safety measures, the university has clarified in its notification that all Central and State directed protocols will be followed, hygiene and health measures will be taken to minimise the transmission of coronavirus among students.
Knock Knock
The exponential rise in the number of virus infections in Lucknow and across the state, exhibit a non-conducive environment for conducting any exam. With UGC guidelines directing all universities to conduct exams for the batch of 2020, the preparedness of the Lucknow University and format amendments with respect to a raging pandemic are acknowledged. A date is yet to be released but as per the HRD Ministry orders and UGC guidelines, the exams will be scheduled before September 2020.
