The Rajasthan State Minister, on Thursday, announced that COVID-19 testing will be made available in all districts of the state soon. For this purpose, two Cobas-8800 machines from the US are being imported to Rajasthan and are expected to reach the state by August and October end respectively.

About 22 out of the 33 districts in Rajasthan have the facility of COVID testing. With the import of the Cobas-8800 machines from the United States, the rate of testing which is stilted at 25,000 to 35,000 a day, is likely to shoot up to over 60,000 daily.

The ever-mounting cases of coronavirus have crossed the tally of 79,380 in the Rajashthan stimulating concern among the health and the administrative officials in the state. According to the health officials, 1037 people have succumbed to the dreaded virus so far in Rajasthan, while the state continues to deal with 14,730 active cases. At this point, an increased, and easily available testing facility will help to identify positive patients with greater efficiency, promising stability to the state in the long run. The State Health Minister said that a community health centre equipped with all the facilities will be opened in each Assembly constituency so that the identified COVID-19 patients of that area don’t have to go to the cities for treatment.
In another news, the State Chief Minister reviewed the Covid-19 arrangements in the state and announced on Wednesday that all religious places, including temples, mosques, gurdwaras, churches and monasteries, will reopen for the general public from September 7 maintaining all Covid-19 precautionary measures.
