Passengers at Lucknow’s Charbagh Railway Station will now be able to avail the facilities of lifts and escalators to reach their desired platforms. On Thursday the Divisional Railway Manager of Northern Railway, signalled a green flag to commission the installed escalators and lifts, connecting a new footbridge to the station premises. This venture was undertaken back in March 2018 and now during the course of this lockdown, the project has been completed.
This project will shower us with some relief and people carrying heavy luggage, will no longer have to face any travelling issues. The escalators are capable of carrying approximately 10-12 people at a time and a ramp has been introduced as well.
The new over-bridge spans from the Railway Post Office situated at platform one to platform seven. This will significantly assist in crowd management, which has been a striking issue time and again, especially during holiday seasons.

Even during such a raging pandemic, the authorities are doing their best to make our lives convenient. This development will surely make our daily commute easier and it will indeed shrink heavy congestion in this area. It will also save us some travel time and benefit the elderly.
