All schools in Lucknow, Kanpur and other districts of Uttar Pradesh are set to resume physical classes from February 14. The Additional Cheif Secretary (Home) Awanish Awasthi issued this order on Friday in view of the declining COVID cases in UP. Witnessing a decline in infection across the state, schools for classes 9-12 were directed to resume offline sessions from February 7. With the fresh notice released by the administration on Friday, schools from nursery to class 8 shall also restart physical classes from Monday.
Notably, all schools and other educational institutions in the state were shut down witnessing the resurgence of cases in the third wave of coronavirus. However, the vaccination drive of students belonging to the age bracket of 15-17 continued to be carried out in the school premises during this period as well.

With 1,972 fresh COVID cases traced across Uttar Pradesh on Friday, the fresh caseload of the state has gone down below the 2000-mark now. As per the daily health bulletin released on Friday, a total of 10 fatalities were marked across the state on February 10.
Meanwhile, 3,143 patients infected with COVID marked their recovery on the same day across Uttar Pradesh. As a consequence, UP’s active caseload has now dipped down to 16,640 cases, as of February 11.
