For the first time since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, Goa recorded zero fresh cases and virus-related casualties on Monday. The recovery trend strengthened further with zero hospitalisation record too. According to the latest bulletin data, Goa now has 54 active cases, further marking the flattening of the virus curve here.

Goa has finally emerged out of the swell of the third wave of the pandemic, that hit the country in January earlier this year. The state as a whole has been recording a fading effect of the virus transmission for one week now, with the average daily caseload falling below the 10-case mark. The rate of hospitalisation and the number of casualties have also been nil during the said time period.
This effect brings in much-needed respite to the coastal state, whose tourist economy has been suffering at the whip of the pandemic for about 2 years now. If the dwindling of cases, hospital occupancy rates and deaths continue, Goa can turn to normalcy, akin to pre-pandemic times soon. In the meantime, the public is advised to adhere to all COVID-19 protocols and guidelines to persist in the healing trends.
