Race against time
The infant, diagnosed with severe kidney obstruction and a life-threatening infection, was referred to Chandan Hospital in critical condition. The baby had been antenatally diagnosed with Gross Hydronephrosis, severe swelling of the kidney caused by Pelvi-Ureteric Junction Obstruction (PUJO). Despite initial management at another facility, the baby’s condition worsened due to an unsuccessful nephrostomy, leading to a dangerous infection. In urgent need of intervention, the infant was brought to Chandan Hospital at just 20 days old.
