Considering the cold wave shrouding Lucknow with a thick layer of fog and chilly winds, Lucknow schools have revised their timings yet again. Classes 1-8 of all government, private, and aided schools will start their days at 10 AM now and finish classes at 3 PM, as per the District Magistrate’s order. The timings will be followed till January 21, 2023, as of now.
At the same time, classes 9-12 will function from 9 AM – 3 PM.
Cold wave conditions in Lucknow
While the biting cold has resulted in various health hazards in people recently, the smog has also caused visibility issues, leading to numerous road accidents.
According to India Meteorological Department (IMD), mercury is forecasted to dip further in the capital Uttar Pradesh capital in the coming days. Till now, Lucknow temperatures have dropped to a minimum of 4 degree Celsius. IMD has also issued a yellow alert from January 16-18 and advised public to be aware of the cold wave.
