In an attempt to make police stations more inclusive and people-friendly, the Vasco police station in Goa has set up a dedicated childcare facility on its premises. According to reports, the DGP of Goa, Mr. ID Shukla inaugurated the childcare facility on Monday. With the inaugural of this facility on Monday, Notably, with the launch of this provision, the Vasco precinct has bagged the position of being the first-ever station to start this facility in the coastal state.

Apart from the childcare facility, the DGP of Goa also inaugurated a police guesthouse on the upper floor of the police station at Vasco on the same day. With the addition of these facilities, the police department aims to shatter the scary stereotypical image of police stations by making policing more inclusive for all.
According to DGP Shukla, the daycare facility for children is meant to assist women with kids, especially tourists who need police assistance. While they seek help from the officers, the childcare facility can take care of the kids for the time being. With this newly launched facility, the Vasco police station is moving towards becoming a safe space for all.
