The University of Lucknow (LU) and Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH) have signed on the dotted line, paving way for enhanced academic research and activities.
With this partnership, LU students will be able to garner practical experience of museums, art galleries, archives, heritage libraries and state information centres.
Marking this start, LU’s department of library and information science signed an MoU with INTACH, a large network of conservation centres across the globe.

“The MoU signed between the two institutes laid the foundation for an enriched learning experience for library science students, with a focus on preserving documentary resources, manuscripts, rare books, old paintings and indigenous cultural heritage,” LU VC Professor Alok Kumar Rai expressed.
“Prominent Indian cities, including New Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar, Jodhpur, Kolkata and Lucknow, also have INTACH centres. Students and teachers will be significantly benefited from this collaboration,” he said further.
With this, academic initiatives like internship programmes and training workshops will be conducted by INTACT for the benefit of students. Moreover, they will get opportunities to get trained and guided by experienced professionals.
